Gaslamp Quarter

About Gaslamp Quarter

The Gaslamp Quarter is a vibrant downtown San Diego neighborhood with many entertainment options. Clubs, dingy bars and hip cocktail lounges attract a young crowd, and the Spreckels and Balboa theaters offer a varied program of music, comedy and drama. There are both large restaurant chains and small independent restaurants and the diversity in cuisines is great. The Horton Plaza Park is characterized by its lawns, ice cream and coffee stands and an interactive fountain.

The Gaslamp Quarter is famous for night life and entertainments. However, it is also enjoyable during the day time in terms of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shopping stores.

What makes Gaslamp Quarter attractive to visit?

Having gone from being the most infamous to the most “in” district of the city, today the Gaslamp Quarter has good restaurants, entertainment, and shopping for tourists and locals alike. We were so impressed when we visited it that we had to include it in the list of places to visit in San Diego.
