Temecula

About Temecula

Temecula is bordered by the city of Murrieta to the north and the Pechanga Indian Reservation and San Diego County to the south.

The city is a tourist and resort destination, with the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, the Temecula Valley International Film Festival, championship golf courses, and resort accommodations for tourists which contribute to the city's economic profile.

Although Temecula is geographically closer to downtown San Diego than downtown Los Angeles, it is considered part of the Greater Los Angeles area.

What is known in Temecula?

Temecula is well known for its championship golf courses, a climate perfect for serene and beautiful hot-air ballooning adventures, and award-winning wineries nestled in 3,000 acres of picturesque wine country, but that's just the beginning. The community's mix of entertaining activities and friendly residents makes visitors want to return again and again.

Located in the heart of Temecula, the Old Town district blends historic buildings with over 640 antique dealers, unique shopping, and restaurants.

The city sits in prime wine-making country and to that end much of the countryside around here is covered in gorgeous vineyards that are open to the public and can be toured if you want to know more about how wine is made and grapes harvested.

What makes Temecula attractive to visit?

One of the best ways to enjoy Temecula is by taking off and looking down over the city in a hot air balloon, and balloon rides here are frequent and well-loved by locals. Parks, nature trails, lakes, and hiking spots cover this part of California, but if you are looking for some culture then you also won’t be disappointed.

Not only will you find amazing shopping at places like Promenade Temecula, but you can also get back to the days of old at historic Old Town Temecula where you can learn all about how this city got its start. There is also a community theater in Old Town Temecula, as well as a range of museums in the city for both adults and children, and if you are travelling with children then gems such as Pennypickle’s Workshop are not to be missed.
