About Vinkeveen
At just a stone’s throw from Amsterdam, Utrecht and Hilversum lies the friendly town of Vinkeveen. The area offers a broad variety of boating, biking and walking routes.
It is a part of the municipality of “De Ronde Venen”, and lies about 18 km south of Amsterdam. The neighbourhood of Vinkeveen, which covers the town of Vinkeveen and the neighbouring hamlet of “Achterbos”, has over 9000 inhabitants.

What is known in Vinkeveen?
Vinkeveen is known for its “Plassen” (lakes). Due to its central location it is a popular and cherished area for water sport enthusiasts and holiday-makers. The lake contains 12 islands that form ideal spots for numerous activities alongside and on the water: swimming, boating, sailing, diving, fishing, waterskiing, kayaking, etc.
Nonetheless serenity, space and nature remain the key words of the “Vinkeveense Plassen”. The story of how the lakes came into being is a startling history and the wholesome water is one of the purest in the Netherlands. Vinkeveen offers more than you can think of, that’s for sure!
